About the Network
The Mid North Community Passenger Network is a not-for-profit community organisation providing a transport service to the residents and communities encompassing the local government areas of Clare & Gilbert Valleys, Adelaide Plains Council, Regional Council of Goyder and Wakefield Regional Council and covers an area approximately 12,282 square kms.
Community Cars are located in each council region and are available to assist transport disadvantaged residents attend medical & health appointments locally or in metropolitan areas.
The cars are driven by volunteers, who freely choose to give their time, energy, skills and experience to help others.
Transport may also be arranged for shopping, banking, chemist, hairdresser appointments, visiting friends or social events (Conditions apply).
Who can travel?
Any resident of the Mid North Region is eligible for our services.
Including, but not limited to people who may:
- not own or drive a vehicle
- be frail, elderly, isolated or have a disability
- not have access to transport
- need to attend a medical appointment & have been advised you cannot drive home
- have family and friends who usually assist you that are unavailable
- be temporarily transport disadvantaged for other reasons
Concessions
Veterans Affairs Gold Card holders may be entitled to reimbursement of fees through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If you are an outpatient of the Flinders Medical Centre, Royal Adelaide, Queen Elizabeth or Modbury Hospitals, you may be eligible for all or part of your contribution towards transport to and from that hospital.

I Require Wheelchair Access
In addition to Community Cars, the network has a wheelchair access vehicle (5 days a week) and a Medical Bus Service (4 days a week) to any metropolitan medical or specialist rooms. Travel may also be arranged for shopping or other personal appointments.
Carers may travel free but must have a seat booked. For details and eligibility criteria contact the office.
I Require a carer/companion to travel with me...
Our volunteer drivers are eager to please, however are not equipped to attend to the needs of clients. Please ensure you have arranged a carer/companion to travel with you if required.
The carer/companion must remain with the client at all times ensuring a constant level of care and support.
Fees will not be charged to passengers who are travelling to support the client.
Our Drivers
Our drivers are fully Accredited Commercially licensed Drivers.
Having worked in the community with the frail, aged and elderly they offer a personalised, caring service to clients, able to offer personal assistance if required, ensuring that you arrive promptly at your medical appointments stress free.
You will be collected from your home where possible in a modern, air- conditioned, easy access vehicle that has wheelchair access should you require it.
